My feelings on the DOE report (cross posted from my blog)

Posted on April 11, 2007 at 7:07am 5 Comments

I missed this when it first came out, but I've been seeing the repercussions all over the web.

Recently the DOE released the findings of a study they'd done on the

effectiveness of software in reading and mathematics. The basic finding

was that software does not help. There are… Continue

Yes, I've used LoggerPro for video analysis before. But the video clips always take up a lot of room and I figure that the clips with more fps are even bigger.

Thanks for the use of all your videos. I'll probably start with that to get the hang of it while I do some research on actual cameras. I'm worried about having enough computer power to be able to process the videos for analysis. One of my students actually had a camera that we used to shoot some clips of our water rockets but the video just made our school computers crash. What fps do you recommend?

Hi Steve,

With your love of Technology and Web 2.0 Integration, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service. Here’s a public class recording conducted by Nellie Deutsch on Technology Integration.

Hi Steve. I was wondering if you have students or educator friends who would be interested in participating in a nationwide SAT Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!

I actually did a bit of research after I asked the question and it turns out that a kid can subscribe to the podcast in iTunes and then take the file from MyMusic and load it onto the Zune. The Zune software will do the necessary file conversions.

Thanks again, Steve. I got it up and running on iTunes. Do you know how to have a student download the podcasts on a Zune?

That's what I thought. I use Camtasia, so the iPod conversion wouldn't do much for me. Thanks for all your help.

Thanks Steve. Do you use the free account, or do you pay for your account? If you pay, what is the benefit?
