About Me
I have been involved in education for basically my entire adult life. In college I ran a nature program at a summer camp, after which I served as a high school biology and math teacher in the Peace Corps for four years, then worked at the Smithsonian with Apple, Lucasfilm, and Discovery on one of the first multimedia prototypes (Life Story, on the race to discover the structure of DNA), then went to Quantum Computer Services (later America Online) where I started and ran AOL's education, kids, and parenting channels for a number of years. Since 1997, I've worked as an independent consultant, mainly still in education, with clients such as Pearson, Scholastic, IBM, World Book, Discovery, CPB, PBS, Microsoft, the National Park Service, the National Science Foundation, the Museum of Science and Industry, and others. A lot of my work has been in partnership with Grunwald Associates, which specializes in quantitative and qualitative research on how kids, parents, and educators are using new media and what they want out of it. Like the proverbial plumber with leaky pipes, my website is (very) badly out of date, but I'm working on this (really).

Hi Tom,

Thanks for connecting... I almost never log-in here these days... but I wanted to drop a note!
