Profile Information

About Me: I am a veteran teacher from Virginia. I currently teach 7th grade science, Living Things. I represent the state of VA on both the Virginia Education Association and National Education Association Board of Directors.
I have two grown children - both out of the house! I am not too far from retirement, but feel the technology I am using and learning about now will help me stay connected when I retire from teaching -
I have embraced all of the technology available to me, I know it helps me do a better job as a teacher. My school is the Elite Showcase SMART School for 2011 and I am a presenter and avid user of my SMART board everyday!
My school is also a Kennedy Center CETA (Changing Education Through the Arts) school. I have been a CETA teacher for 11 years and integrate the arts in my classroom as a result of the classes and training I am engaged in through the Kennedy Center. Using technology with the arts is also a bonus!
