Profile Information

About Me: I am a Special Education Consultant within the IU13 for a community based school for emotional support and Alternative Education program. My desire to pursue special education was in part of my niece Janelle. Janelle was born 27 years ago with Down Syndrome. I watched my sister and her husband having to deal with the school system and what was best for Janelle and due to the lack of support given to my family, I chose to enter a second career of special education. My goal was to become an advocate for students and their parents to ensure their educational needs were met. After 10 years in this field, I continue to have a passion to advocate for students and parents and to celebrate with them their successes.
