- I am finishing up my first year of teaching on Chicago's Westside. Although I was initially overwhelmed with the needs of my students, I believe I have begun to rise to the demands of my job, and rise to the challenges that it presents. My job takes up most of my time, but when I am not at school or keeping in contact with students, I like to spend my free time with my husband and my little dog Ivy.
