Thanks for the invite. It looks as if we have common interests, online tools, brain based learning, etc. I look forward to communicating on these subjects. So, I am going to jump right in.
I am Director of Curriculum at a private school in Honduras. Our mix of instructional staff is 75% Honduran, 25% American. I am interested in getting our Honduran middle school staffers training in effective middle school instructional techniques. Our diagnostic math and reading scores are at their lowest in middle school. I realize that many students' brain growth is on hold while the maturation process kicks in, however I also know that our teachers could be applying middle school specific methods which would ensure student retention of previous learned skills while introducing new ones. We use differentiation but I think we need more.
As coordinator for the NJ Consortium of Middle Schools, do you know of any sources for teacher training in these areas? We send our teachers to training venues throughout the year and would like to find one specific to this area.
Wow, sorry about this note turning into a novel. I look forward to your advice.

Hi Jim, and thanks for adding me! I'm impressed with what I see on your About Me and the discussion I'm seeing here on your page. We're interested in the ame things! I'm glad to be a part of this and look forward to more of your comments
Jim,
I taught a Social Networking and Web Resources class for our undergraduates last fall. This summer I am teaching an Emerging Internet Technology Special Topics course for the Masters in Technology for Teachers. I would be interested in learning what web resources that you have discovered to assist middle and high school teachers. Look forward to your comments.
Jim - I would like to invite you to be a friend on Classroom 2.0. I have read many of your comments on other blogs and they are insightful and though provoking
Thanks Jim for all of your hard work in acquiring these videos...I AM a fellow seeker, I need to provide videos to coincide with Grappling's Technology and Learning Spectrum for my administrators..their conference is in January...THANKS again!!!
Hi Cindy,
Thanks for asking. I guess maybe you're a fellow seeker?
I put together a list based on what people sent and what I could find. Based on what I was looking for (unedited raw footage of teachers teaching in a classroom) the first source was the best for me. For other purposes, others will be better. Anyway, there's a lot of good stuff, and if you know of other sources, please let me know and I'll add them to the list so everything's all in one place.

Thanks for your invite Jim - I look forward to being part of your group of friends! My work is in middle school science and environmental studies - we implemented an off-campus year 9 Program this year that focussed on identity, careers and community involvement.
Jim,
Thanks for the invite. You have a very lengthy involvement in education. I would like to get the state advisor for the organization that I work closely with in New York connected with you for a support level. I will chat with you later.
Take care,
Carolyn
Lieber Jim! Ich würde gerne wissen, warum du mein Freund sein willst! Hast du mein Profil gelesen? Dann weißt du, dass ich in Österreich lebe und in deutsch meine Kommenatre verfasse und auch in einem anderen Schulsystem tätig bin!
