Maybe in the contest instructions you could emphasize the need for these steps. I think your idea of "voting down" error ridden material is great for a short term solution. It would be a useful exercise for my students to pick out the mistakes we find and write their own corrections.

I ran into some weird stuff going through the videos/flashcards. Made me a little hesitant to use them in my teaching.
