Using Tablets in Assistive Technology #1

One promise on the horizon in the field of assistive technology is the promise of the usage of tablets. With the use of tablets, devices could be customized to meet the needs of the individual students. Specific apps that could downloaded on the tablet that could provide services needed for each student. In fact in Nova University is currently studying to determine if iPads can help students learn quicker than traditional methods. However, besides doing a comparison of media methods between “traditional methods” vs. technology based methods, researchers and teachers need to research and develop the most effective approaches to using tablet technology with students with special needs.
