Thanks to the advice I found of Classroom 2.0, other educators, and talking with faculty in my school, I created a two hour workshop to plan and design a classroom website along with two companion websites that will hopefully grow as I add content.

To Build A Classroom

This workshop will address the fundamentals of creating a website to act as a companion to your classroom.  If you search the web for examples of different teacher sites you will notice that each is different in its purpose, design, and complexity.  Some simply post homework and notices, others are full blown virtual classrooms, while still others host notices and commentary by the teacher.  There are no rules as to what a teacher’s classroom site should look like, nor what kind of information should be available.  The important thing to remember is that it must be something you are comfortable maintaining and that you will use it.
