When you think of a classroom, one of the first things that pops in your head is a chalkboard. Nowadays, these are a pretty rare find. Most teachers now have smartboards or an activeboard that they use when they teach. A smartboard is an interactive board that works with computers to enhance the learning experience. Because I graduated in 2007 and am from a small county, smartsboards weren't all that common. So I didn't really know much about them or how they worked. The next year, I became a TA at my old school and got to play around with them a bit. I quite enjoyed playing around them and learning about all the cool things you can do with them.

As a teacher, if I have a smartboard in my classroom, I will definitely be using it. Because teachers have to meet state standards, I think that a smartboard will help make students learn those standards faster and will make the learning process more memorable and fun. When a student has fun with learning, they remember the context better. I think that the interaction that students have with the board and the learning process helps them meet those standards.
