Experiencing Free/Open Source Courses

This self-paced course is a good introduction to Spanish for those who have never studied it before, or a good supplemental program for students who may be struggling in their school Spanish class, or a good refresher course for people who would like to brush up on Spanish after years of not having studied it.  While there are many aspects of learning a language, this course focuses almost exclusively on Spanish grammar.  The course materials and videos had to be accessed using iTunes University.  This tool offered great resources to assist with the course including links to podcast, notes, materials, and videos conveniently along the side.  I was able to check off podcast I had watched to help keep track of what I was studying.  There was also a note-taking tool that allowed me to take notes during the videos and it would make time stamped notes for me to reference later.  There were short assessments after the lessons I was able to complete that were multiple choice or fill in the blank.  If I got a multiple choice problem wrong, hints and information were provided to help me come up with the correct answer.  Overall I liked the design of this course and want to try out the other courses as refreshers on some topics that I enjoyed in school.
