Character Poster vs. Glogster Poster

In class we have been learning about these different tools we can use as we go on to teach after we graduate there are a lot of benefits from both using a character poster (via Excel) and using a Gloster poster (via Glogster) and learning both of these strategies. I view the Glogster poster as being challenging and frustrating because it was harder to make sure the pictures I wanted on the poster were there. I had to wait for them to download onto the website and then download onto my poster. When doing the Character poster, It was easier because I was able just to use the pictures that were already on my computer, or download one from the internet, which is a lot faster than downloading a picture onto 3 or 4 different things. I think that you could use either strategy for just about anything needed. The Glogster poster definitely gives you more choice and freedom to create what you would like and gives you options as far as backgrounds, text boxes, frames, and even the layout. Whereas, the Character poster, I was limited to what I am given on the program. On the other hand I really enjoy that I can move things around to where I would like it on my poster, and I love that on Glogster, I have the option of having arrows that move and also videos. One thing that is annoying is that with your Glogster poster, you are unable to take the full effect of the poster onto paper unless there is nothing on your poster you need moving. On the Character poster you could feel print because you didn't have the freedom to add moving things in the first place. As far as resources go, students are able to use many more sources on Glogster. They can go to YouTube and find even more and even add music to their posters. Either way, both of these resources have their pros and cons it all really depends on what you are using it for to decide which is better at that moment.
