Hello Everyone!

I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself and let everyone know why I have joined the group.

I am not actually a teacher, but a human rights activist. I write on children's rights for the Foreign Policy Association (FPA). I do work with children as a child care provider, and have worked with the learning disabled.

I have joined the group to hear from those on the front lines of our children's future on what they think is important, and what their students think is important, in our global society. I am glad to have been introduced to this group, and to have the opportunity to learn from all of you.

I currently write a blog for the FPA, and I would love to see you all come visit the site and let me know what you think, www.children.foreignpolicyblogs.com Please feel free to comment on the site, or to me directly. I always love to hear topic ideas, so feel free to throw them at me.

I was asked by a 9 and 11 year old I work with if they could say something about child labor on the site, and it got me to thinking about doing a regular feature or an in depth piece on children's views on such issues. Therefore I would love to hear from all of you as to what you think, and if it is something that you may want to approach some of your students with. I would of course be open to your ideas on how to go about it, topics, and so forth.

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration, I hope to set-up a project for children on children's rights and have many of you, and your students, a key part of it.
Many Thanks! Hope to hear from you soon!
