Ning has a requirement that anyone using their social networking platform (which Classroom 2.0 is doing) must be 13 years or older. This is directly related to laws in the US regarding children and privacy.

I emailed Lucy directly, since I hadn't figured out that she must have be one of your students, and asked her to talk to her parent or teacher about this. Now that I've talked to you, would you mind helping her understand my email and the reasons why I have to follow these rules?

I'm so excited that you have students interested in using a site like this, and want to encourage you to continue whatever good work you are doing!

I'd be glad to call you by phone to explain if that would be helpful. Otherwise, would you make sure they delete their accounts--or I can delete them from here, which I'll have to do soon if I don't hear back from you.
