I am currently an Assistant Professor in the National Institute of Education, Singapore. I have experience in various educational settings spanning the Philippines, Spain, Italy, Australia and the US. Aside from working as a senior bureaucrat in a central office of a private educational organization, I also used to be a Teaching/School Principal of a middle-sized elementary and high school in the Philippines. I teach graduate courses on research, issues on educational reform and my current research interests are in Singaporean students’ conceptions of political interest and civic participation in the midst of globalizing contexts. I also pursue research inquiries into governance and its impact on educational policy and practice. My most recent publication is a book (March 2009) by the University of the Philippines press entitled “Corruption and Implementation: Case Studies in Philippine Public Administration.”
