About Me: My name is Susan Perritano. I am 48 years old. I have been married to Jeff for 26 years. We have two children. David is 22 and attends the University of Texas. He is majoring in Radio, Film and Television. Nathan is 20 and attends Abilene Christian University in Texas. He is majoring in Psychology with plans of becoming a police officer. I am new to Oregon and have been here for a year and a half. My husband manages dialysis clinics and his position transferred us to this region.
I graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1986. I have nineteen years of public school experience. Last year I was the Teaching and Learning Coordinator for a Eugene school. I am currently unemployed, because I was laid off. I also have three years of homeschooling experience.
Our family loves to travel. We enjoy camping. This summer we camped in Yellowstone and in Missouri. Since my husband and I are new to the region, we love exploring Oregon. Most of our family is in Texas. We visit it often. Here’s a tidbit, if you fly enough; Southwest Airlines will send you birthday cards.
I have decided to pursue my Master’s Degree year. I would love to become a principal or teach at the university level. I have begun the process of writing a book about education entitled “Let’s Win the Race to the Top”.
