From the articles I have read on Today's learners and what to expect and not expect from them I was not shocked in the least. I am a young teacher and I almost fall into the category of a Digital Native. However after so many years of school being taught the traditional way I seem to have lost my confidence in what I have the ability to do in my classroom for my students. I understand there needs to be change, and I also understand the digital learners perspective on how change can be time consuming and scary. We have to start thinking on our students' level or we will not reach all students. I am concerned however that not all students have cellphones, laptops, facebook pages, blogs, etc. so when you conform to this new generation you may be losing those who are not fortunate to have the technology. So it seems like a lose lose either way. I think technology is important I just wish every teacher and every student could be on the same wavelength to make the transition and expectations easier (like in the Warlick article read). Will that time ever come, and what can get us there?
