- I teach in the largest urban/suburban high school in the state. My students are wonderful immigrants, primarily from Mexico, who not only grapple with a new language and culture, but also with special learning needs. Although I have been teaching for decades, I am new to ESL, and am seeking ways to increase my effectiveness as an ESL teacher.
