Career changer Research scientist for twenty years. I struggled in middle and high school but went on to graduate with honors from graduate school. I still remember my guidance counselor telling me "you will never make it in college, think of something else to do".
I found it disturbing to see more and more people using emotions and opinions to try to solve problems, without even considering the facts first. As a scientist I think the best way to solve problems is to critically analyze the facts, then use logic and reasoning to reach a solution or at least prepare steps to reach a solution.
In an effort to give back, and do something worthwhile, I entered into education. I want to help those students who like me, have potential, but for some reason are struggling.
