Hello Nancy and thanks for joining our Voicethread group. I hope you find some good resources in here for your students. I'm now following you on Twitter as well. If I can help in any way, please let me know.
We had some contact with Urban Gateways in the past, but not in recent years. Are you in Evanston schools? My focus is in helping non-school, mentor-rich learning programs be available to more kids in high poverty neighborhoods. I don't know of many in Evanston. We maintain a database of these to help volunteers, parents and donors find them more consistently. If you are connected to people or groups interested in this, please point them to my web sites.
Hi Nancy. I lead a non profit in Chicago working with inner city kids. Our site based program is Cabrini Connections while our effort to help similar programs grow in many places is the Tutor/Mentor Connection. I hope we can connect in the coming year.
