- Currently an Assistant Librarian at the University Library of Columbus, Madelyn Washington came to librarianship after 13 years as a professional performing artist. While working as a Metadata Specialist in the Digital Library Program at Indiana University in Bloomington, she gained expertise in areas of digital project management, metadata generation, and Semantic Web technology application. Her research foci are: music, metadata generation, and managing information in digital environments for poverty eradication. Hoping to embark on collaborative efforts in digital reference services, she is looking forward to meeting others wishing to share their knowledge of emerging technologies.
