Hi Lisa --

It's great to so many Canucks in here in CR 2.0. You might want to join a group called "Canadians Mashup". If you join, please use the Welcome forum at http://www.classroom20.com/group/canadianmashup/forum/topics/welcome-to-canadian-mashup to introduce yourself.

Hi. I teach Grade 7 and Grade 8 Social Studies at a small coastal school in New Brunswick. My Grade 8 is working through the Atlantic Canada and the Global Community curriculum, which I presume you are familiar with.

I don't know if you have ever collaborated with other schools, nor if you desire to, but I'm starting to think that connecting my class with another A.C. class might be beneficial.

If this sounds like it might be a decent idea, feel free to let me know. Thanks!

Hi Lisa

Just thought I would leave a note. Whether you ever see it I don't know. But I am using the outside discussion forum just the same

Thanks for your response. In a junior high setting I think Blogs should be approached in a very cautious manner. Students must realize that the blog is to be used in the capacity of learning and not for social purposes. Before engaging in blog use it is pertinent that educators check with school administration for their policy on blog use, and ensure the blog site used is as secure as it can be, parents should also be made aware of the teachers intentions.
