- I'm an 8th grade ELA teacher in the Bronx. Seven years ago I walked into my first classroom. The first few months were rough but I fell in love with the kids and with teaching. My favorite thing about teaching is the look of understanding on a child's face when they suddenly 'get it. It's a beautiful thing.
