Wireless Generation’s Professional Services team provides innovative services that empower K–12 educators to use data-driven strategies to improve student outcomes. Teachers need both a curriculum that provides them with customized, data-based instruction for each student, as well as support that helps them best deliver that instruction with fidelity, complementing the other work they are doing in their classrooms. Reporting to the Vice President of Professional Services, the Director will be responsible for leading the design, development, and publication of all the training materials for its customers’ professional development sessions.
Responsibilities of Director:
Develop innovative instructional design/delivery methods for professional development products
Collaborate with school, district, and university partners, as well as management, sales, and marketing, to help identify market needs for professional development products
Work with Product Managers to ensure Professional Service materials are thoughtfully tied into curriculum products and consulting services that accompany them
Track and report progress of program development to the executive team on a regular basis, with a focus on risk management
Establish metrics and evaluation criteria to determine overall effectiveness of training and associated materials
Suggest new professional services based on knowledge of the K-6 education market and capabilities of the company’s products and people
Train, and supervise team members in training, internal and per-diem consultants on new content, ensuring they are prepared to deliver professional development to customers
Provide a supporting role to product management team, providing feedback from the field that may impact future product design
Work with VP, Professional Services to develop product roadmaps and development plans
Travel as required
Required Skills and Knowledge:
Proven ability to determine new modes of delivery to most effectively support our customers’ needs. (Customers are educators and the education community, including teachers, coaches, administrators, specialists, parents, and students.)
Deep understanding of the K–6 school environment and a strong commitment to educational improvement
Experience designing and developing strategies for, and approaches to, training and professional development experiences
Experience in the development of curriculum materials (both classroom and teacher professional development) and the visual delivery of instruction
An eye for quality and good design
An understanding of the demands on teachers and how to create engaging but practical and easy to-use classroom solutions and professional development experiences
Familiarity with formative assessment and how it is used to guide instruction
Prior success in managing and driving team performance
Required Experience:
Bachelors degree in a related field (Master’s strongly preferred)
Deep knowledge of, and experience in, the area of educational publishing in literacy and/or mathematic products (6 years minimum)
A record of success in K-6 teaching or school administration (3-5 years)
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Demonstrated success in developing partnerships both inside and outside an organization
Leadership ability and staff management experience
Strong business acumen and ability to analyze and interpret data
Experience managing the publication or development of a major series is a plus
Proven ability to strategically build and manage a product offering
Success at working across teams of technologists, product developers, designers and client-facing staff
Experience in educational publishing preferred
