John Capasso lives in Linwood, New Jersey, which is located south of Atlantic City. He teaches work readiness skills for special education students and runs the school-to-work program for special needs and at-risk youth at his local high school, Mainland Regional.
He has taught at Mainland for nine years. He received his teaching certification in secondary Social Studies many, many moons ago. Between then and his current position, he served in the Marine Corps as an enlisted man, went to law school, worked as a Deputy Attorney General for the State of New Jersey, and went into private practice including his own law firm.
For the last ten years of his law practice he advocated for education programs on behalf of special needs children under IDEA.
He is married, with three children, all currently in college or grad school. (Sympathy and donations cheerfully accepted).
