While working in China and learning Chinese I was struck by the need for some springboard to getting to grips with Chinese characters. As I studied I noticed that characters sometimes looked/appeared like something else more tangible and concrete (not just the per-se pictographics). I started to draw what I later titled 'pictorial mnemonics for Chinese characters', and for over ten years have beavered away at developing these. My primary driving ambition is to benefit the Chinese learning and teaching community, and to make Chinese a more attractive and attainable subject. From first formulating the idea and throughout the many years of development entirely at my own considerable expense, and innumerable, exhausting hours of painstaking work, this has remained my abiding goal. I am confident that you will appreciate their potential and value.
