I have a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and a minor in Teaching English as a Second Language from North Georgia College and State University. I studied abroad in Spain during the summer of 2007; this trip further sparked my interest in foreign languages therefore pushing me to continue my studies of all things Spanish. I later completed a course in Medical Spanish interpretation from UMASS, which gave me an insight into our country's dire need of foreign language speakers. I am currently attending The University of North Carolina at Pembroke and am enrolled in their Spanish licensure program. Though I attend classes, I also work part time as a language instructor on Fort Bragg. I work directly with our military, helping them prepare for possible deployments to Latin American countries. We review Spanish grammar, cultural differences, dialectal differences, historical events, and important artists and literary figures.
In the spring, I will begin my student internship and hope to possess a strong knowledge of current technological advances in our 21st century classrooms.
