Direct and develop all aspects of instructional design for SUNY Ulster, focusing on four
specific arenas: Strategic planning, Infrastructure, Curriculum Development & R&D
Strategic planning
Analysis and research embedded within school committees including Ulster Strategic
Planning, Instructional Resource, Distance Learning and Executive staff to shift the
school culture in recognizing instructional technology as vital tools that help people
learn and become productive workers in our society.
Infrastructure
Conscious support, whether online, face to face, equipment or training support; working
in tandem with the Student Learning Center, Library, Maintenance, Marketing and IT
departments, to provide a coordinated array of outreach and support for faculty and
students.
Curriculum Development
Provide faculty with all aspects of how content meeting teaching to create courses:
tailored individual and group pedagogic support, face to face, blended and online course
content strategy, campus workshops showcasing faculty successes, software training
emphasizing where which task helps which type of student, student focus groups to
review what works.
R&D
Facilitate an infectious excitement on campus for faculty to investigate modes & tools of
learning through fostering early adopters, support grant applications from inception to
campus adoption as well as & conference presentations. Create an international
collaborative approach to learning. To date we have collaborated with professors from
European Humanitarian University in exile, located in Vilnius, Lithuania, and
Universidad Internacional, Cuernavaca, Morales, Mexico.
