- As a first-year teacher, I am excited to be working in rural North Carolina. This year, I conducted a Virtual Career Fair using SKYPE. Students interviewed professionals and learned a great deal about their future careers. My plans for next year are to host a Virtual Guest Speaker on a regular basis. I also plan to use Twitter and other technologies to engage my students in learning about the world beyond the cotton and tobacco fields that they see everyday.
