- Erik is a doctoral student in Teacher Education at Michigan State University. His research interests include elementary education technology integration, global education, cognition and technology, and increasing teacher professionalism via web-based tools. Prior to coming to Michigan State, Erik spent seven years teaching a multi-aged classroom of fifth and sixth graders in Arlington, VA. Erik also taught four additional years high school and middle school age students at Close Up, a civic education program in Washington, DC. Erik holds a Masters degree in Education from the University of Virginia. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and Political Science from Dordt College.
