- I move to Humboldt County at the age of 18 to attend Humboldt State University, and never left. I received a BA in art and another in Child Development. After teaching preschool for 4 years, and returned to HSU and got my teaching credential. I was hired to teach kindergarten at Ferndale Elementary, and have been teaching there ever since. After 25 years of teaching there, I finally moved here in April. Between us my husband and I have 5 kids, 5 grand-kids, with one more due in January. Our free time is filed with sleep-overs, family dinners and walks through our town. I am actively seeking to improve my technological literacy, for personal and educational use.
