I'm currently a fourth-grade teacher and technology mentor for DSUSD. Over the past two years, I have had the opportunity to use a variety of technolgy within my classroom.
I use a Smart Slate along with a projector so my lessons are interactive and my back is never to my students. We just recently received Responders, which allow for students to take quizzes and tests with their individual remotes.
The quizzes/tests are paperless and are scored immediately. I will be receiving wireless laptops for my students next week, which do not have a hard drive so they are vertually indestructable.
We are fortunate at Roosevelt because along with the hardware, we also have access to Discovery Education, a program called, "Success Maker," Accelerated Reader, and many other programs.
I am currently using webquests with my students, and will be presenting at the CUE conference in March.
Hi Deirdre. I was wondering if you have educator contacts who would be interested in participating in a nationwide SAT Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!
With your interest in Education Technology integration, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service.
