I moved with my family from Ohio to Tok, Alaska, in 2000 because my husband took a position here as the director of this rural community's mental health office. I have three children: a married daughter who lives in Anchorage, another daughter who lives in Denver, and a son who attends the University of Alaska in Anchorage. I have worked in a variety of settings: public, private, community education, adult education, and rural village schools. I have taught almost every age from kindergarteners to adults. I'm very interested in career education and working with special needs individuals (especially those who may be hearing impaired). I'm technologically "challenged," but am currently taking a class to correct that disadvantage; hence, I'm subscribing to this network to fulfill the requirements of an assignment.

Hi Deb. I was wondering if you and your students would be interested in participating in a nationwide SAT Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. If not, perhaps you have some educator contacts you could direct me to. We'd really like to get students involved from Alaska!
You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!
