- I am a 2nd career teacher who hopes to network with others. I've had a hard time fitting in with mean-spirited administrators who bully their teachers. I'm outspoken, and when I see injustice, I speak up. However, this had landed me in hot water. I am thinking about giving up on the profession, even though I'm an excellent teacher for my students who are advancing their skills. Teaching should be a profession and you shouldn't have to go to work scared to loose your job because you have an opinion; such as I shouldn't be blamed for inheirting 8th grade students with a 3rd grade reading level, not being given any materials or technology, and being told to make them proficient.
