Brenda Wright is an Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellow since 2006. Her fellowship placement was in the Education Policy office of the U.S. Senate HELP Committee under Senator Edward M. Kennedy.
Most of her teaching career has been in New Hampshire. She has been teaching science and math since 1977. Her experience has included many grade levels from pre-kindergarten through college in both private and public school settings. She is best known for integrating the arts in both global awareness and environmental education programs in elementary and middle school. She has 12 years experience advocating for and providing challenge to advanced learners. She presently is working at Jakarta International School (Indonesia) as a 6th grade math and science teacher. Next year, every one of her students will have a Mac laptop.
Awards include the Einstein Fellowship, a NH Elementary Environmental Educator of the Year (2008), Green School Award of New England, from Center for Environmental Education at Antioch Graduate School (2002) and the Arts in Education Leadership Award (2002) from the NH State Council on the Arts.
She has Bachelor degrees in biology and physics from SUNY at Cortland and Northeastern University, respectively and a Masters in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in gifted education from the University of Connecticut. She is presently completing a Masters degree in English as a Foreign Language at Southern NH University.
An avid lifelong learner and supporter of the arts, she is dedicated to arts and technology integration as a powerful way to personalize and increase student learning.
