- Born a poor white child in the suburbs of Louisville, Kentucky. I followed in my mother's footsteps to become a teacher. The chalk dust that permeated my childhood convinced me to pursue anything BUT education in my post-secondary studies. Alas, all was for not and after several years in the corporate rat race, I finally confronted by destiny and went to teacher-school. I'm so glad I did because I love teaching.
