The campus was one of our middle schools and I knew the other teacher and what she taught. Our 1st skype was awesome. Her students made their own web pages on Glogster for each of the symbols we learned in class. All it takes is a skype account(free download) and a love for technology integration!…

These skype pals would then have video conferences and chats periodically...the video/audio conferences would take place in both english and the language that our students are learning.

That is what freaks *some* IT people out about it.

have outstanding 5th graders so I thought it might be a good place to start. With our setup we would really only be able to have one computer Skyping at a time. I was thinking maybe just having students share pieces of writing, or having each student give a fact about their state/country... simple things at first, with the focus more on experiencing the technology than the actual content.
