ey wanted. It is a great tool for creating presentations or working collaboratively on writing projects. For as powerful as VoiceThread is, ed.voicethread does little more than give you the ability to create student accounts. The class manager tools leave much to be desired, and the site was very 'buggy' throughout the summer. It is easy for students to learn and use, but we had some difficulty with students trying to share their VoiceThreads with others. It certainly is secure, but almost too secure- they can't share their work with family because family members aren't on the ed.voicethread network. There are ways around this of course, but more teacher controls and options would be nice.
Overall, VoiceThread is amazing. I am a huge advocate of it. Despite this, I was disappointed with ed.voicethread. They certainly are on the right track and I appreciate Steve Papell and Ben Muth's recognition of the possibilities that VoiceThread has for education. If you want to get this tool in the hands of your students throughout the year, yes go for it- the $60 is worth it. Hopefully there will be updates to the site soon, but that will only happen with continuous feedback from us. Good luck!

alpine horn performances. Many of my students want me to buy an alpine horn for the class! I'm not sure I would have room to store it :)
I visited the ISZL web site last week. You work on a beautiful campus. Do you think your students would be interested in a Voicethread project? I could post a new voicethread or maybe you could have your students add comments - audio, video, or just text - to this greeting voicethread we posted recently: http://voicethread.com/#u406170.b674819.i3567443
Let me know if you're interested. And thank you so much for the photo and your voicethread post. Ken…

ere are my questions: 1) With comment moderation I know I can moderate comments made by students to my post, but can I also moderate comments made by students on other students' posts within the class? 2) Students don't need an email to join as part of a class on EdVoiceThread, but can they still email links to their voicethreads to other people? Could I set it up so they could only be emailed to me? 3) Can you close the voicethreads to all people except the class, or do they have to remain open to every class registered on EdVoiceThread? Thanks to anyone who can help.…

ting project reviews, etc.
Students would be able to hear & see their digital "pen pals" and Voicethread provides a very dynamic and secure platform.
Let me know any ideas or best practices that may already be out there and if you are interested in connecting, contact me! Thanks
