n the link in the email will it show in their docs list. This really seems strange and causes me some problems in class when our school blocks gmail. The whole area of groups versus distribution lists is not the best feature of google apps.…
ich provides a URL you could post somewhere to share the work with a large group. OR you could have students share their documents in Google Docs with a smaller number of students using email addresses.
Hope that helps!…
le or is that not workable? I have used google docs and google chat for collaboration with a school in the USA and the classes work as a whole. Google forms have been designed to get data from individual students. The results have then been dropped into a google sheet and downloaded onto the school network, for individual student use. Once formatted, analyzed and charted the teacher can upload them onto the shared google doc.…
accounts, filters, accountability, resources and much more. So, I have decided to create a Ning dedicated to Google in education (I know, the name is very original). The Ning is young 11/25.
I hope to meet you. Thanks, Steve for starting the Ning endeavor.

l post the link to a doc in our class moodle. I have the box checked on the google doc to require sign in.However even if I have the students sign in to their google account first and then go click on the link to the share document, it will take them to a page asking them to log in. But the log in page is the teacher log in page (@xxxxx....) and not student (@stu.xxxxx..).One way I have found is to share the doc with the students by entering in their email addressee under the share options.Another option that was recommended to try was to create a generic student account, put the docs there and share that way. Unfortunately in a student account, the share link option also requires @xxxxx.. and not the @stu.xxxxxI guess that means stu is not a subdomain? That kinda defeats the
purpose of being able to lock access down to just teacher and students.
Suggestions?…
Usually a teacher will create a "collection" (Google Docs' word for folder) and share it with their students. Students then make sure to tag their work into that collection. Teacher then goes to the collection to see shared assignments.
You could, in theory, use Google sites for a traditional dropbox feature (They have a "file folder" page template)…
on, and Drawing) don't count toward that quota limit as mentioned. Similarly, certain images and videos in Picasa Web Albums don't count toward the limit. For more info, see the free storage section on this page: http://docs.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=39567
To me it seems like Google's philosophy on space is to give you a lot if you are using their services but not to give you a big, free drop box to just park (or backup) files.…
