Hi Jack,
This is a great idea! I will spread the word in my area. I can envision many people at the high school level wanting to become involved in this project.
I did share the site with HS teachers on Monday but YouTube was blocked so I could not show the examples. We did simple podcasts in the workshop using a any vocab word or concept they chose so it was a good resource to show them and it is still linked to a wiki page I think some will re-visit
Hi, Jack. I am having the problem with the link connecting properly. I will pass the information along to a few different ed groups in which I am a member. Joyce
I checked out the link, and this looks really cool and right in line with what my students enjoy: using technology. I will bring this to the attention of the multimedia teacher, and see if I can team up with him and a few students to create a quality project. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
Hi Jack! Thanks for your outreach. This would have been perfect for my students last year but now I am at a K-6 school as Director of IT, Boston Renaissance Charter Public School. I will pass this along to my contacts however. Please keep me in the loop of other projects like this!
Thanks for the invitation to the MIT vocabulary contest. I will talk with my team Literacy teacher and see if we can get some students who need a challenge to make some useful videos.
Please keep me in the loop of other projects also.
I'm sorry that it took so long to get back to you. I don't use my FrayTeach@aol.com email much anymore. But if it's not too late, send me an email at TeacherFray@aol.com and tell me more about the Video Vocab contest. If my students can take part, we certainly will!
This sounds terrific! I'm also not a big user of Classroom 2.0 but would love to find out more about your program. You can email me at kireber@mlp.philasd.org. I will share the information with the other Humanities educators at School of the Future.
We might, but realize that I teach in two K-5 buildings - we're not quite up to SATs and ACTs yet. I'll pass this along to a colleague in our high school building though.
Bob
I'll send your question to our DE tech user group. I'm sure that there will be some interest out there. Also, a good place to start looking for interest would be the Charter School of Wilmington. "Charter" is very academically-minded and the kids there are always interested in a challenge.
Looks like you're looking for high school students, I'm in a middle school and most of the kids are not prepping for SAT/ACT yet - I will forward your link to my counterpart in the high schools in my district.
Jack,
The project looks great. The problem is all of our students take the ACT and not the SAT, but I'll check with our English teachers and see if they would be interested. Thanks for the invite and I'll let you know.
Hi Jack - Looks like a great project/contest. I am in an elementary school. I forwarded your email to my area specialist who will forward it to the correct curriculum person in our district. Thanks again!
HI Jack. I am in an elementary school but I will pass the info to high school teachers. I'll be watching to see how the project goes. Let me know if you do something for elementary.
Hi jack, I have passed the information on to my English teachers in the high school and Middle school. Hopefully they will agree to participate. Good Luck!
Hi Jack,
Hope all is well! I teach all freshman, so I can ask some of my colleagues that are teaching juniors and see if they can participate. Stay tuned!!!
Gosh, this looks like such fun! It won't fit into my science, social studies, or reading classes right now (we're knee deep in project work), but I'm going to pass it on to my teaching partner and several others. I'll even offer to supply the cameras to make it happen! :)
Jack,
I would love for students at Trussville City Schools to participate in this project. What grade levels are you looking for? Do you have more information about the project so I can share with the teachers? We have about 4,500 students K-12.
Hi Jack. Thanks for the invitation. Our school is K4-8. However, maybe our 8th grade English teacher would be interested in doing such a challenge. I'll meet with her and see.
