Web 2.0 and the virtual classroom...

Bottom line: virtual classrooms are web 2.0 environments. Or they could be if the environment is designed around constructivist principles. Read/Write, Upload/Download... share and rate contributions.. you can do this with a course management system or on the open web.

The WebcastAcademy.net is a hands on, online collaborative training center for people interested in learning how to produce and host live, interactive webcasts with worldwide participants. English and Spanish language modules are being produced. Further languages are forecasted.

I like the innovative issues addressed, but as things are moving so fast "muddling through" has been the favored approach up to now. Convergence of the course into Moodle and into 3D virtual worlds is under way.

Les, I watched the video. You give a nice overview of your training platform. (I did note that you have about a minute of dead air at the end of the video.)

I also visited the site and sampled some of the content.

The element that I didn't see is some kind of threaded discussion capability. How do students interact with each other? Can learners discuss content?

In my own online designs, facilitated discussion is the foundation for learning and community. That's why I'm always curious about how a platform provides this aspect of e-learning.
