I am the Technology Director for a Indiana school district of 3000 students. Our district is partnering with an adjacent district to write a grant (approx $250,000) to get teachers started using web 2.0 tools as an instructional tool to engage students. Many of you are just starting and know what resources (equipment, training, tools, etc) would be nice to have to ensure successful implementation/continued use. Others of you have been using 2.0 tools for a while and could give advice on pitfalls, PD that you wish you would have had, etc. I'm looking for any/all comments. We are looking at using this not only as a teacher collaboration tool, but also having students use online tools as well. We have a Moodle server and are thinking of creating our own Ning site. I really want Web 2.0 tools to be useful, not just one more toy that will come and go. Any help you can give would be much appreciated!! Thanks in advance!
