This video explores the Puget Sound through the first hand perspective of two students and will be used by the environmental education center, Islandwood, in order to aid student's understanding of producers, consumers, and decomposers. This video is still in the prepublication stage so we would greatly appreciate feedback on the application, relevance, and instruction extension within the classroom.

Everything about this video is great. The music is perfect, the "actors" don't feel like actors, they simply sound like real kids in a conversation with each other. But, most importantly, I think the subject matter and the way it's presented is perfect.
I work with 7th grade students, and during the last quarter, our Science class covered this subject, with each table of kids creating their own aquatic ecosystem in aquariums. Having the video presentation would have certainly added more dimension and "life" to the projects.

Great work!

I too think this is really well done. I thought the music and the imagery kept my attention, which is great, and will also keep the attention of younger students. It is nice to show students in the video telling the story, which also will keep kids interested. I know this gave me a refresher on producers, consumers, and decomposers, considering I haven't studied that for almost ten years now. I think it is a great video to show and I think it will help kids remember all of the terms---this coming from a visual person:)
