Suggestions needed! How does your school "schedule itself" for a 21st century approach?

As we move forward in our attempts to update our curriculum, we find that there isn't enough time to dig into the curruiculum as deeply as we would like. What steps has your school or classroom taken to revamp? How does your schedule reflect a more 21st Century approach?
