Hi,

I am looking for suggestions for wiki or website creation programs that 5th graders can use as part of a project for English class. I've familiar with wikispaces and pbworks but was looking for something that allowed for a little more creativity for each wiki page. I am looking forward to hearing your suggestions!

Wikispaces and PBWorks are the most popular in the education world. If you're looking for something the kids can collaborate on but that doesn't require outside collaboration, you might try Google Sites. It's free and pretty easy-to-use; basically, students can collaborate to create a website.

For more about wikis and ideas on using them in the classroom, this blog post might be helpful.

Good luck!

Thanks! I didn't  consider Google Sites,  but I think that one might work best. I can test it out myself but would you know off hand if multiple users can be logged in and working on the same website (not page but site) at once?
It looks like you can't do simultaneous editing with Google sites, based on this thread. :(
