Questioning Techniques

i know for a fact that questioning during facilitation helps to engage learners in the discussions and it is a way of making them talk. Questioning also helps facilitators to measure their learners' understanding of the topic covered.

however, I seem to not understand how as a facilitator i could use different questioning techniques during facilitation to involve all learners. i believe the different quetioning methods may end up confusing learners as they may not know how to answer to some of the questions.
