Great figures in history can be found in different moments and the moments are from people we can recognize.
David needed to encounter others during trying times so that their guidance would be more meaningful to him.
I think it was important for David to visit the historical figures to show how important events were impacted by the decisions that those leaders made.
I think it was important, too, to realize that to each of these figures these decisions were simply decisions that had to be made along the way. They didn't always realize the impact of the decisions, only that they had to proceed one way or the other. Likewise, we may not realize the difference that we make on a given day.
That should make us more cautious about making negative influences. We should try to be a positive influence on everyone we encounter during the day.
It showed David that although these historical figures did great things they too had struggles just as David but their outlook was different so therefore the outcome of their efforts were effected.
I agree. I think we all feel that we're the only ones that have struggles in our lives, but everyone does and we need to overcome this and be strong for ourselves and the people around us.
By visiting the actual sites, he was able to understand the circumstances under which the persons made their decisions.
1. David met people in the book that would help him through the trials that he was enduring in life. I think this is one example of why some people rise to the top and show greatness.

2. These people showed David how important it was for him to be strong and decide his own fate.
I think David visited historical figures during crucial moments during history to gain wisdom. During these crucial moments, David realized if these people could get through then he could also endure the most difficult times.
I feel that the reason David visited these historical figures were to help him realize that he wasn't the only one with problems. I feel that this visit helped him to see that what is in the past is the past. He shouldn't dwell on the past, but move on and use his wisdom to start over. It taught him to have a positive outlook on life and to help others as well as himself along the way.
