How to introduce new content using technology and still meeting all the standards

Hello! I just want to post this question for discussion because it is the common problem that I run into as a first year teacher trying to invlove technology in my classroom. I get excited to utilize tools such as wiki's, podcasts, u-Stream, ect., however I am sometimes at a loss as to how to make sure the content standards are being met when giving students the freedom of using these tools. Any suggestions???
