So the school I'm at is switching from Mac OS X to Windows XP (and Windows 7 when the time comes). I'm helping come up with a good list of programs to use in XP. I was wondering if anyone had any programs that they've used before with middle school and high school general computing classes that they like and wouldn't mind recommending. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Sorry about that. Programs that I can use to enrich the students' base of knowledge in the land of computers.
middle school and high school
Just general computing. We've done video/audio creations with iMovie and GarageBand this year. We've also gone over the Office programs, as well as some work with wikis.
For programming:
Game Maker 7
Robocode - a Java implementation
and (despite the sneers of many) VBA.
