Geography Compacting Unit

As the new talented and gifted teacher in my building I have been asked to work with students who compact out of the geography unit in 7th grade. They are asked to create a country and design four maps to show their skills i.e. longitude, latitude, compass rose, scale, physical map, political, etc.

Anyways, I want to have them create their maps on the computer as I think drawing their country four times on paper is more busy work. Does anyone have any suggestions about how to go about doing this. We have Office products and that is about it for software. I don't really have time to download any free software so it would either have to be Office or a free online source. Thanks.
